What if you need to deploy ISDN devices around a field deployed campus or base? What if you need to deploy ISDN over a large terrestrial distances but are concerned about the security of using copper cable? The BB702x ISDN over Fibre Extender offers the ability to extend one or four basic rate interfaces (including signalling) over single or Multimode fibre. The ISDN over Fibre Extender provides a strong, secure method of deploying ISDN interfaces in high electrical noise areas or in RF shielded enclosures, or in areas where data tapping is a risk. For tap-and tamper-proof ISDN applications there is no better way to connect the telephones or video conferencing systems (for example with 4 BRIs) over a fibre pair to the central IT high security room.

FEATURES

• Two BB702x are a converter pair (NT/TE) to extend one BRI over fibre optic cable - protocol and application transparent
• On the NT site 40V power source for TEs can be provided
• Multimode and Singlemode fibre optics are supported
• Normally the transmission operates with 1310nm wavelength (850nm/1550nm on request) in both cases
• The unit reaches high ranges with Singlemode up to 4 k (higher ranges available on request)
• The BB702x are available in several chassis. Desktops with external PS as well as 19" rack mountable chassis (1U for 3 boards/3U for 14 boards) with redundant PS A Plug and play devices, easy to use
• Only the NT/TE and 40V PS 1 feature can be selected by jumpers. No other configuration is needed.
